About the position

The Senior Research Analyst at FOX Broadcasting plays a crucial role in supporting the FOX Broadcasting Company (FBC) by providing essential metrics and analyses that inform programming decisions. This position is centered around FOX's primetime entertainment, where the analyst will be responsible for creating and distributing daily rating reports that track the performance of various shows. The role involves generating estimates for FOX programming, preparing highlights for publicity efforts, and ensuring that both FOX and competitive program tracks are meticulously maintained and updated. Additionally, the analyst will field requests from clients, making this a dynamic and interactive position within the organization. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly organized and strategic thinker, capable of developing actionable insights from data. Responsibilities will include not only the preparation of daily and weekly ratings reports but also the creation of projections and highlights for nightly broadcast programming. The analyst will conduct comprehensive analyses of FOX's ratings performance, comparing it against the competitive landscape, and will provide forecasting for currency estimates as well as total viewership metrics across both linear and digital platforms. This position is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and to influence programming strategies through data-driven research. In addition to the analytical tasks, the Senior Research Analyst will be expected to respond to various requests from other departments, including Finance, Sales, Revenue Analysis, Marketing, Publicity, and Scheduling. This cross-departmental collaboration is essential for ensuring that all teams have access to the insights they need to make informed decisions regarding programming and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily and weekly ratings reports
  • Create projections and highlights for nightly broadcast programming
  • Generate comprehensive analyses of FOX's ratings performance and the competitive landscape
  • Provide forecasting for currency estimates as well as total viewership metrics, across both linear and digital platforms
  • Develop actionable research-backed findings for use in presentations
  • Respond to requests from other departments including Finance, Sales, Revenue Analysis, Marketing, Publicity and Scheduling

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • 2+ years of experience in media research or related field
  • Strong interest in working within the entertainment / media industry
  • Detail-oriented with superior organization and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience with Excel data sets including creating formulas and formatting; experience with macros a plus
  • Knowledge of Nielsen ratings; Knowledge of digital metrics, statistics and research methodologies a plus
  • Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work effectively under strict time constraints

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (MA, MBA) is valued, but not required
  • Experience using Nielsen data and systems (NPOWER, NNTV)
