About the position

G2 is seeking a Senior Market Research Analyst to focus on specific software and technology markets, maintaining and curating the real-time taxonomy that powers the G2 marketplace. This role emphasizes developing independent and unbiased categorization of B2B software and producing data-driven thought leadership. The ideal candidate will adapt to a fast-paced environment, convert data into compelling narratives, and support the growth of G2's priority categories.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain category integrity in a defined market through research and trend analysis.
  • Take ownership of the taxonomy roadmap for their market, initiating projects for improvement.
  • Educate software buyers about selecting, implementing, and benefiting from business solutions via managed categories and content.
  • Produce timely, actionable insights for enterprise buyers of technology to improve their decisions.
  • Collaborate with the G2 team to develop and deliver new reports and insights.
  • Connect proactively with vendors and support sales efforts by advising on categorization and representation.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of professional experience, including relevant experience to subject matter expertise.
  • Fast, continuous learner who can work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong and open communicator.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in specific categories as a practitioner, researcher, or analyst.
  • Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to produce data-driven stories.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience.
