About the position

The Senior Research and Evaluation Analyst at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) will provide high-level data analysis and evaluation skills to support the HIV, STD, and TB (HST) Section. This role involves overseeing project management, determining effective study designs, conducting complex data analyses, and preparing comprehensive reports to evaluate strategic investments in public health initiatives aimed at eliminating HIV, STIs, and TB in Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Determine effective study designs and analytical methods for research, evaluation, and surveillance projects.
  • Oversee project management to ensure successful implementation of studies.
  • Conduct complex quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings from research and evaluation initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance for various research, evaluation, and surveillance projects.
  • Support core HIV, STI, and TB surveillance efforts and the implementation of Oregon's comprehensive HIV/STI strategy.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in public health or related field and three years of experience applying research/evaluation methods in public health or social sciences, or five years of relevant experience without a Master's degree.
  • Experience planning and designing research/evaluation projects.
  • Experience conducting complex statistical analyses and qualitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical and qualitative software such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, NVivo, and/or Atlas TI.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
