About the position

The Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist will play a pivotal role in the Research Team at Mirai Biosciences, a subsidiary of FL85, which is dedicated to advancing innovative platform technologies in the biotechnology sector. This position is designed for a motivated and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced research environment and is passionate about scientific discovery. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development of cutting-edge analytical and bioanalytical capabilities, which are essential for supporting various project teams within the organization. In this role, the Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist will be responsible for conducting a variety of assessments, including physico-chemical, in vitro, and in vivo evaluations, to provide reliable analytical endpoints for research activities. The candidate will assist in building and expanding the laboratory's analytical capabilities, which includes setting up instrumentation and optimizing assays. A key aspect of the position involves performing ELISAs and other immunoassays with high accuracy and precision, ensuring that the results meet the rigorous standards required in biotechnology research. Collaboration is a cornerstone of this role, as the Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist will work closely with team members to troubleshoot and enhance existing methodologies. Maintaining accurate and detailed laboratory records is crucial, as is the preparation of technical reports that communicate findings effectively. The candidate will also actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas for process improvements and fostering a culture of innovation within the research team.

Responsibilities

  • Support research activities with reliable analytical endpoints by conducting physico-chemical, in vitro, and in vivo assessments
  • Assist in building and expanding analytical and bioanalytical capabilities, including instrumentation setup
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of assays to support various project teams
  • Perform ELISAs and other immunoassays with high accuracy and precision
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and improve existing methodologies
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and prepare technical reports
  • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting
  • Demonstrated experience running ELISAs and other immunoassays
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new techniques and technologies rapidly
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with molecular assays, including RT-qPCR and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Familiarity with HPLC (UPLC-CAD) based assays
  • Experience in cell culture techniques
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry principles and hands-on experience
