About the position

Mammoth is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist to join their NGS Core. This role focuses on developing and executing next generation sequencing (NGS) workflows to support the discovery and development of novel Cas nucleases for genome editing. The successful candidate will collaborate across technical areas, including high-throughput screening and molecular biology, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge CRISPR technologies.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and execute in-house NGS workflows.
• Establish and qualify novel NGS library preparation techniques.
• Troubleshoot current NGS library preparations.
• Operate and maintain in-house NGS platform.
• Timely reporting of data, analysis, or/and status updates.
• Execute current NGS-based assays to meet the technical needs across teams.
• Detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of experimental procedures, data, and analysis, including meticulous sample tracking and data management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genome sciences, biochemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of academic/biotechnology industry research or laboratory operations experience for SRA level; 4 years minimum experience for Associate Scientist level.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on custom library preparation using NGS to answer scientific questions.
• Experience operating Illumina sequencers in a research or core facility setting.
• Experience or proficiency in NGS data analysis.
• Experience with both Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms.
