About the position

FL106 Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate with expertise in chemistry to contribute to the development and validation of novel target discovery approaches. This role is crucial for driving the growth of an early-stage biotechnology company focused on genetic medicine. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, utilizing their skills to make a practical impact in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and execute experiments that support research activities and project goals.
  • Perform bioconjugation chemistry, HPLC purification, and biophysical and biochemical characterization of project compounds.
  • Assist in managing outsourced CRO-based workflows related to medicinal chemistry.
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and instruments.
  • Troubleshoot challenging technical, experimental, and instrumental issues.
  • Collaborate closely with cell, molecular, and in vivo biology groups to meet company goals.
  • Record and analyze data meticulously in an ELN and present findings in weekly group meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field (e.g. organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology or pharmaceutical science).
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience, preferably in the bio-pharmaceutical industry.
  • Hands-on experience in biorthogonal 'click' chemistry conjugation for a range of biomolecules.
  • Experience in implementing biophysical and biochemical analysis and purification techniques, ideally HPLC.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Motivated and excited about therapeutic and assay development.
  • Dynamic problem solver and self-starter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LC-MS and/or NMR.
  • Experience with conjugation of oligonucleotides and other biomolecules.
