About the position

The position involves joining the Evotec Sample Management team at a state-of-the-art facility focused on the high throughput preparation, storage, and distribution of biological samples to support research and drug discovery efforts at Genentech in South San Francisco. The successful candidate will engage in protein and plasmid DNA sample management, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with teammates and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Adapting scientific knowledge to resolve problems encountered in achieving defined goals with support from line manager or other team members.
• Reviewing and following laboratory procedures and policies for operating functions of the laboratory.
• Demonstrating full command of all techniques and tools required for assigned responsibilities within the given project.
• Ensuring the conduction of safe working practices.
• Managing protein sample activities such as sample registration, data entry, aliquoting, and aseptic handling techniques.
• Performing quality control and standard molecular biology techniques such as plasmid DNA preparation, sequencing, and sequence analysis.
• Maintaining laboratory records, reports, and files.
• Independently managing and resolving technical problems.
• Recommending and assisting in the implementation of goals and objectives, and implementing approved policies and procedures.
• Providing support to colleagues regarding equipment or technical requirements for projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years relevant industry experience, or a master's degree with one or more years of relevant industry experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience with protein sample management and QC techniques.
• Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques such as plasmid DNA preparation, sequencing, and sequence analysis.
• Experience with standard nucleic acid analytical/QC methods.
• Experience with automatic liquid handling and analytical techniques is desired.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) such as Titian Mosaic is a plus.

• Experience with Titian Mosaic or other Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
