About the position

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine. This position is a full-time role that will involve working closely with Dr. Wei Shi on research projects focused on pulmonary vascular development and diseases. The Senior Research Associate will be expected to coordinate research studies, contribute independently to projects, and perform statistical and graphical analysis of data. This role is designed for individuals who possess a high level of competency in research, although they may not have an independent research program. In this position, the Senior Research Associate will be responsible for making independent contributions to research projects based on their professional training and experience. They will need to interpret data, assist in judging its validity, and independently resolve issues that arise during research. The role may also involve establishing test controls, criteria, and research standards, as well as designing complex data processing systems to analyze research data. The Senior Research Associate will be expected to accomplish assigned results for projects or significant aspects of larger, complex assignments. Additionally, they may serve as a mentor to junior-level research staff and provide direct or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff, including responsibilities such as hiring, performance evaluations, and approving time off. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate research studies in a particular discipline.
  • Make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training and experience.
  • Perform statistical and graphical analysis of data, interpret data and assist in judging validity of data.
  • Independently decide how to solve issues/problems and rely upon their own resources to resolve the issue.
  • Contribute to the collective team effort.
  • Establish test controls, criteria and research standards.
  • Design complex data processing systems to analyze research data.
  • Accomplish assigned results for project/studies, or for significant aspects of larger, complex assignments.
  • Serve as a seasoned level researcher and may act as a mentor to junior-level research staff.
  • Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in related field, process or discipline.
