About the position

Westat is seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead survey data collection projects within the Social Policy and Economics Research practice area. This role involves managing all phases of data collection tasks, including methods design, sample management, questionnaire development, and data analysis. The successful candidate will have experience in survey project management and will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Lead large- and small-scale survey data collection projects.
• Manage day-to-day activities of data collection tasks including methods design and sample management.
• Develop and review survey instruments and protocols.
• Oversee data collection activities across multiple modes (telephone, web, field, etc.).
• Conduct data quality reviews and participate in data analysis and report writing.
• Maintain effective client relationships and manage project schedules.
• Participate in business development activities including proposal development.
• Contribute to financial reporting and contract management.

Requirements

• Master's degree in psychology, sociology, geography or related social science field and 6 years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. in a related field and 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting using quantitative techniques.
• Demonstrated communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on federal and state agency contracts.
• Experience with travel behavior survey design and analysis.
• Experience managing client relationships and project teams.
