About the position

The Senior Research Coordinator will support the daily operations of the neonatal nutrition research team at Baylor College of Medicine. This role involves recruiting, screening, enrolling, and consenting study participants, as well as overseeing research data collection and entry. The candidate will play a crucial role in the Neonatology Nutrition program, ensuring compliance with research protocols and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and implementation of infant nutrition-related research studies, including interviews, screening, and recruiting patients for studies.
• Explain processes and procedures to educate participants regarding the research study.
• Maintain regulatory documentation for research studies and ensure compliance with BCM Institutional Review Board.
• Prepare submission documents for internal and external regulatory bodies.
• Manage all aspects of active research studies, including screening, enrolling, and consenting patients.
• Oversee and coordinate the collection and entry of research data, including collecting patient information and entering it into databases.
• Communicate effectively and work well independently.
• Manage tasks and serve as a nutrition expert to Research Coordinator I and Research Assistants.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field, or four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
• Five years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related field.
• Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the American Dietetic Association and a Licensed Dietitian by the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR).
