About the position

The Senior Research Scientist at NCH Corporation will play a pivotal role in the Lubricants R&D Team, focusing on the development of innovative lubricants and fuel additives. This position involves leading projects from concept to commercial launch, creating and improving formulas, and driving innovation to address industry challenges. The role requires collaboration across teams and mentoring junior scientists, all while making a significant impact on various industries globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product and process innovations from concept to commercial launch.
• Create new formulas and fine-tune existing ones in the lab.
• Drive product specifications, manufacturing processes, and performance tests.
• Generate fresh ideas and uncover new growth opportunities.
• Work with global teams to enhance product manufacturing and improvements.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and present findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor and share knowledge with junior scientists.
• Troubleshoot real-world challenges and manage non-conformance issues.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Global Platforms to ensure product success.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• 10-20 years of hands-on experience in R&D, specifically in grease, lubricant, or fuel additive lab environments.
• Expertise in grease or lubricant chemistry.
• Knowledge of tribology and rheology is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and data analysis.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
• Research-driven with a strong ability to apply new knowledge to product innovation.
