Senior Research Scientist

About the position

The Senior Research Scientist will act as a principal investigator for clinical trials focused on medical cannabis. This role involves overseeing and managing various aspects of research projects, including formulating research questions, drafting scientific papers, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The position also includes collaboration with faculty at the Dornsife School of Public Health and teaching courses related to cannabis and drug use.

Responsibilities

• Supervise project manager and other staff, overseeing the work and training of students.
• Coordinate various aspects of clinical trials studies, including leading the formulation of research questions and drafting scientific papers.
• Develop and implement appropriate programming for research projects.
• Interpret and write up results for presentations and publications, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Present results at scientific meetings and participate in collaborative research seminars.
• Develop new grant proposals and projects related to cannabis as a principal investigator or in collaboration with others.
• Teach courses related to cannabis and drug use, serving as a resource for cannabis and drug policy.

Requirements

• PhD or Doctorate degree in Public Health or a related field, or equivalent training in epidemiology, sociology, demography, biostatistics, or another related public health or social science field.
• Strong quantitative and writing skills.
• At least 5 years of experience using complex analytical approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods analyses.
• At least 5 years of experience developing/writing manuscripts and/or grant applications.
