About the position

The Senior Researcher in Geophysics and Geomechanics at the University of Kansas will lead geophysical and geomechanical evaluations for various projects within the Energy and Stratigraphy Division of the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS). This role is pivotal in advancing the KGS's mission through multi-disciplinary research focused on subsurface resource definition in Kansas, requiring collaboration with both internal staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead geophysical and geomechanical evaluations on various projects.
  • Participate in and lead multi-disciplinary research related to subsurface resource definition.
  • Collaborate with internal KGS staff and external collaborators.
  • Conduct scientific studies to improve understanding of Kansas' stratigraphic and energy resources.

Requirements
