About the position

The Senior Resource Analyst at ASRC Federal AFSS will provide expert-level support for a NASA contract in Washington, DC. This role involves budget planning, financial analysis, and reporting to ensure effective resource management and compliance with NASA's financial processes. The analyst will lead cost studies, monitor project financial status, and utilize advanced Excel skills to enhance reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform budget planning and formulation activities including annual Planning, Programming and Budget Execution (PPBE) process.
  • Provide monthly status reports for program management.
  • Lead numerous and diverse cost studies for decision-making processes involving program planning, procurement, and budgetary actions.
  • Complete budget execution tasks including project office task tracking and contractor cost reporting analysis.
  • Allocate funds based on approved operating plans and report funding status to project management monthly.
  • Monitor project financial status by tracking and analyzing financial data using NASA's accounting systems.
  • Ensure that costs do not exceed obligations throughout the fiscal year.
  • Prepare, manage, and report monthly project financial data to project leadership team.
  • Process and submit monthly Prime Contractor accrual data in SAP Contractor Cost Reporting tool.
  • Conduct monthly cost analysis on financial deliverables from project prime contractor and maintain Baseline Change Request log.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to reduce manual processes and streamline financial data analysis.
  • Document standard operating procedures to assist in team knowledge-share and communication.
  • Assist in planning and executing the project's workforce exercise and prepare monthly reports on staffing variances.
  • Prepare presentation charts and reports for major reviews.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training classes as required.
  • May lead other personnel in complex assignments.

Requirements

  • Experience reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and communicate clear directions.
  • Strong decision-making skills utilizing analysis and judgment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and think critically to create innovative solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Outstanding proactive customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to NASA GSFC.
