About the position

As a Senior Revenue Analyst at Western Digital, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of the company, particularly in the area of revenue accounting. Your primary responsibilities will include performing various monthly and quarterly revenue close tasks, which encompass posting monthly and quarterly revenue and contra revenue journal entries, as well as preparing balance sheet account reconciliations. You will be expected to prepare accurate and timely monthly and quarterly revenue reports, which will involve reconciling data between the reporting tool and the general ledger, and preparing management reporting packages that provide insights into revenue performance. In addition to these core responsibilities, you will conduct disaggregated revenue analysis to support SEC filings and provide necessary data support to the Legal team for revenue reporting. You will also be responsible for preparing monthly future rate tables by updating historical Point of Sale (POS) and Special Pricing Authorization (SPA) rates, sell-through data, and ending channel inventory data. This information will be critical for the Business Unit (BU) Finance team to determine final future rates. You will lead future rate table meetings and engage in gross margin analytics discussions with BU Vice Presidents, the BU Finance team, the Revenue Controller, and the Revenue team to review inputs on future rates. Your role will also involve performing reporting analytics to assess variances and the impact of business activities on revenue. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Sales Operations, and BU Finance teams, to enhance the quality of revenue data and improve the efficiency of revenue reporting processes. You will design, implement, and maintain effective key accounting processes, policies, and internal controls, while also evaluating and recommending best practices for process improvement opportunities. Furthermore, you will coordinate audit requests in support of both internal management and external audits, ensuring that all assigned revenue PBC deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
