About the position

DHL is seeking a qualified Collections Analyst to join our National Billing Center. This pivotal role is essential for developing, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures that assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers. The Collections Analyst will be responsible for extending or revoking credit lines and limits, as well as collecting on overdue accounts. This position requires a proactive approach to managing customer relationships and ensuring timely payments while maintaining trustful interactions. The successful candidate will coordinate with various departments, including sales and pricing, to resolve billing disputes and ensure accurate invoicing in line with contractual agreements. The role also involves monitoring past due accounts, conducting account reconciliations, and providing thorough documentation of customer accounts. The Collections Analyst will utilize their judgment to analyze customers' ability to pay and determine the best course of action for recovering outstanding payments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with sales or other divisions in the resolution of billing disputes that affect the ability to collect receivables
  • Carrying out collection activities within established global guidelines
  • Performing account reconciliation
  • Maintaining required levels of customer contacts
  • Effectively managing customer conference calls
  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships
  • Monitoring and contacting past due accounts to arrange for payments
  • Coordinating with Sales, Pricing, and other internal departments to resolve customer disputes over invoicing related to contractual agreements
  • Determining course of action to recover outstanding payment of problematic accounts
  • Maintaining balance between trustful relationships and ensuring timely payments
  • Providing thorough and accurate documentation of customer accounts
  • Utilizing judgment to analyze a customer's ability to pay

Requirements

  • Intermediate-level professional contributor
  • Excel proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years' experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 1-3 years of experience in related field
  • Professional certification is required in some areas
