About the position

MongoDB is looking for a high energy, detail-oriented and hands-on individual to join the Revenue team as a Sr Analyst. This is a brand new role created to support the company's growth and will be based out of our New York headquarters. This individual will hold a unique position with dual responsibilities of supporting complex revenue operations processes and new product initiatives. Responsibilities will consist of supporting month end close, booking entries to the general ledger, representing the revenue team on product rollouts, drafting technical accounting memos, and performing ad hoc analysis. Responsibilities

  • Advise on revenue concepts for new product initiatives, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Conduct Ad Hoc materiality and sensitivity analyses to determine financial impact of new initiatives and complex transactions
  • Perform complex month end close analyses on areas such as Contract Modifications, Variable Consideration, and Product Conversations
  • Draft technical revenue memos arguing the Company's revenue accounting positions
  • Conduct research on revenue accounting guidance specifically relevant to new initiatives
  • Support review of different revenue streams for appropriate revenue treatments
  • Perform analyses to assess the need for combining contracts pursuant to ASC 606
  • Assist in work papers, PBC's and process walk-throughs for audits (internal and external)
  • Support preparation of contract review write ups and identifying any non-standard terms
  • Assist with preparation of executive-level analytics for various internal and external presentations
  • Work cross-functionally with key internal business partners, such as GL, OTC, and Business Systems on ongoing issues and help drive to conclusion
  • Assist in other ad hoc project work as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting (CPA is a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a global revenue accounting team or 3+ years of big 4 experience
  • Prior experience working with sales data, customer contracts and product offerings
  • Proficient in MS Excel & experience working with large volumes of data
  • Previous experience in Software/SaaS industry
  • Knowledge of ERP and CRM systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem solving skills
  • Acute attention to detail and well developed organization and time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, deadline-oriented and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a rapidly scaling, dynamic environment
