About the position

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst will play a pivotal role in leading advanced analytic projects that support RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH). This position is focused on utilizing data to address strategic and research challenges within the organization. The analyst will be responsible for wrangling large and complex data sets, as well as building machine learning models that will aid in various Revenue Cycle and Finance initiatives across operations and strategy. The role requires conducting thorough analyses and presenting results in innovative formats, utilizing informative visualizations that cater to a broad audience. In this capacity, the Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst will employ investigative design methodologies, perform data collection, and conduct statistical analyses. The analyst will interpret results, verify data accuracy, and prepare comprehensive final reports using a variety of software and tools. This position is essential for ensuring that data-driven insights are effectively communicated and utilized to enhance operational efficiency and strategic decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced analytic projects supporting RWJBH using data to solve strategic and research problems.
  • Wrangle large and complex data sets and build machine learning models to aid Revenue Cycle & Finance initiatives.
  • Conduct appropriate analyses and present results in innovative formats and informative visualizations for a broad audience.
  • Perform data collection and statistical analyses, interpret results, and verify data accuracy.
  • Prepare final reports using a variety of software and tools.
  • Distill complex data into actionable insights that empower others to drive operational strategic initiatives.
  • Design, build, and extract large and complex data sets, including both structured and unstructured data.
  • Build, test, and implement machine learning models to aid performance improvement and strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver intelligence and insights to stakeholders within a specified timeframe by applying expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, forecasting, data wrangling, and predictive modeling.
  • Evaluate data quality and provide support to data governance activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in business analytics & healthcare revenue cycle or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong demonstrated proficiency in healthcare data analytics, advanced statistical analysis, or predictive analytics.
  • Strong demonstrated experience with structured data and relational databases, and familiarity with unstructured data.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL programming software, such as SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle, etc.
  • Extensive experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Operations, including Claim Preparation, Submission, Management, Posting, and Collection.
  • Hands-on experience with data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning.
  • Strong hands-on experience with analytics tools such as Tableau.
  • Experience with visualization/BI tools and automated reporting tools, e.g., SSRS, Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI.
  • Ability to perform complex analyses for strategic and research projects, including study design/sample size estimations and analysis of study results.
  • Familiarity with programming and/or scripting languages (VBS/VBA, Python, C, C++, Java, etc.).
  • Business knowledge of table relationships and outcomes to build new views and queries.
  • Ability to investigate, organize, and merge data from different sources into a single data structure.
  • Ability to execute logical data queries from operational, billing, and clinical information systems.

  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of business management/finance.
