About the position

The Technical Accounting role at Box is a critical position that serves as a technical accounting resource within the organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance with revenue recognition and pricing strategies, while also providing accounting consultation on complex issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in the monthly and quarterly close processes and will be a subject matter expert in accounting matters, contributing to the company's rapid growth and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, Rev Ops, and Sales Reps to serve as the accounting focal point on revenue recognition, pricing, and contract structuring.
• Review revenue contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards.
• Perform technical accounting analysis on complex accounting issues and provide consultation to business partners.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly close processes and support operational teams with accounting matters as a subject matter expert.
• Conduct pricing assessments and collaborate with business partners to support pricing initiatives.

Requirements

• 3-4 years of relevant experience from public accounting and/or public multinational high-tech companies.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Excellent understanding of US GAAP accounting principles with strong knowledge in revenue recognition principles.
• Ability to work with senior management and influence decision-making.
• Excellent project management, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, analytical, organized, and thorough with a desire for continuous improvement.
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce.
