About the position

This position is focused on developing, managing, and supporting the execution of risk strategy and transformation plans to drive best-in-class risk management culture and practices. The role involves influencing transformation roadmaps, maturing the risk management operating model, and creating enterprise-level materials and reporting. The position reports directly to the VP, Risk Strategy, Transformation, and Operations and has high visibility with frequent interaction with the C-suite and senior executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling recommendations for risk strategy and transformation initiatives that enhance risk maturity.
  • Identify risk opportunities and create action plans with business teams to mitigate risks.
  • Lead all aspects of risk strategy initiatives including strategy formation and developing business cases.
  • Structure complex problems, conduct analyses, and drive actionable recommendations.
  • Design and deliver materials for board and executive level risk governance meetings.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity of systems and data.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in risk management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in management consulting or large-scale transformation.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, PowerPoint and Excel fluency.
  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong understanding of risk management programs and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and thought leadership.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with executives and leaders.
  • Strong critical thinking skills in complex environments.
  • Experience in building trusting relationships and influencing others.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years prior work experience at a strategy consulting firm.
  • Experience with complex strategic projects in financial services.
  • Fluency in financial and quantitative analyses in Excel.
  • Experience in payments, risk insights, digital identity, banking, or fintech.
