About the position

The Senior Sales & Business Development Representative at Wolters Kluwer is responsible for driving new business growth within the Health Research division, specifically focusing on the Ovid Synthesis solution. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers, developing comprehensive sales strategies, and executing plans to secure new contracts. The position is pivotal in expanding the client base and enhancing the company's market presence.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek out and identify potential clients and opportunities, focusing on closing new business deals.
  • Evaluate and qualify leads to ensure alignment with target market and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to approach and engage prospective clients, tailoring approaches to meet their unique needs.
  • Conduct compelling sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value and benefits of offerings.
  • Handle negotiations with prospective clients, addressing objections and guiding them through the sales process to secure new contracts.
  • Maintain and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, tracking progress and reporting on key metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience with a focus on acquiring new business and closing complex deals.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively negotiate terms and close deals while maintaining a positive client experience.
  • Strategic mindset skilled in developing and executing strategies to attract and convert new clients.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • 5+ years of field sales experience.
  • Experience in complex sales/solution selling.
  • Knowledge of the hospital/quality improvement industry.
  • Experience negotiating with hospital leadership, IT, and Procurement.
  • Clinical market experience.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Internet/WWW, CRM Applications, and SalesForce.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the publishing/information industry.
  • Familiarity with clinical market dynamics.
