About the position

The Senior Sales & Business Development Representative role at Wolters Kluwer focuses on driving new business growth for the Ovid Synthesis solution within the Health Research business. This position is responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with key decision-makers, developing comprehensive sales strategies, and collaborating with the Ovid Sales Team to secure new deals. The role emphasizes generating new business and expanding the client base while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek out and identify potential clients and opportunities, focusing on closing new business deals.
  • Evaluate and qualify leads to ensure alignment with target market and business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategies to approach and engage prospective clients, tailoring approaches to meet their unique needs.
  • Conduct compelling sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value and benefits of offerings.
  • Handle negotiations with prospective clients, addressing objections and guiding them through the sales process to secure new contracts.
  • Maintain and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, tracking progress and reporting on key metrics.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience with a focus on acquiring new business and closing complex deals.
  • Strong negotiation skills to effectively negotiate terms and close deals while maintaining a positive client experience.
  • Strategic mindset skilled in developing and executing strategies to attract and convert new clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a passion for achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • 5+ years of field sales experience.
  • Experience in complex sales and solution selling.
  • Knowledge of the hospital and quality improvement industry.
  • Experience negotiating with hospital leadership, IT, and procurement.
  • Clinical market experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the publishing/information industry.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Internet/WWW, CRM applications, and Salesforce.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across departments within Health Research.
