About the position

As a member of the Americas Business Capture team, the Senior Sales Director - Electric Power plays a pivotal role in supporting the sales and business development functions for GE Aerospace's Electric Power business segment. This position is focused on the future of flight, addressing customer needs across both traditional electrical power systems and future electrification in ground vehicle markets. The Senior Sales Director will identify growth opportunities and lead sales campaigns aimed at capturing new original equipment and services businesses. This role also requires serving as a product sales expert, primarily targeting domestic markets while also engaging in some international and foreign military sales activities. In this capacity, the Senior Sales Director will direct major cross-functional campaigns and pursuits for the Electric Power business, ensuring account ownership and delivering growth aligned with key strategic priorities and financial metrics. The focus will be on traditional electrical power systems and line replaceable units (LRUs), which include power generation, distribution, conversion, and integration. Additionally, the position will support technology building block opportunities that bring electrification solutions to market. Key customer accounts will encompass military and civil aircraft OEMs, government organizations, and universities, with the ability to flex between both civil and military accounts being essential. The role requires building influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and developing strategies to secure profitable business. Responsibilities include identifying, qualifying, and developing opportunities that drive growth, as well as directly influencing product strategies through customer feedback and market needs. The Senior Sales Director will execute the FLIGHT DECK process, utilizing standard work and daily management to develop capture and action plans aimed at delivering growth wins for the Power business. Leadership across the matrix is crucial, as the individual will be responsible for developing bid and proposal strategies to win new business, managing complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts, and leading negotiations to close deals. Collaboration with marketing and strategy leaders on overall product strategy planning is also a key aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Direct major cross functional campaigns and pursuits for the Electric Power business.
  • Responsible for account ownership, delivering growth on key strategic priorities and financial metrics.
  • Focus on traditional electrical power systems and LRUs, including power generation, distribution, conversion, and integration.
  • Support technology building block opportunities that bring electrification opportunities to market.
  • Build influential relationships with assigned customers at all levels and develop strategies to win profitable business.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities driving growth.
  • Drive voice of the customer/market needs into product strategies, including product and technology roadmaps.
  • Execute FLIGHT DECK, developing capture and action plans to deliver growth wins for the Power business.
  • Develop and implement capture strategies and execute to win.
  • Partner with product line team to support production volume, customer engagements, and prioritization of pursuits.
  • Manage the development of numerous, complex, multi-million-dollar proposal efforts.
  • Lead negotiations as needed to close deals.
  • Engage with marketing and strategy leaders on overall product strategy planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in aerospace/defense industry business development, sales, marketing, commercial operations, or program/account management.
  • Ability to travel 25%-50% based on business needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or business administration.
