About the position

Grundfos USA is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to join its Domestic Building Services (DBS) OEM sales team. In this role, you will apply extensive expert knowledge in domestic building services, particularly in the OEM sector, with a high degree of technical and commercial acumen. Your primary responsibility will be to develop initiatives and activities aimed at generating new business and achieving sales goals within your designated territory in the Northeast USA. You will have the flexibility to work remotely from any location within this region, but you will be required to travel by land and air to meet with clients and stakeholders. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will identify and conduct feasibility studies for new business opportunities that could benefit from Grundfos products and services. You will execute sales tactics and plans that align with the overall sales strategies of the company. Additionally, you will assist in preparing budgets to plan sales and marketing activities, utilizing SAP BW data for business analysis and forecasting. Your role will also involve providing expert advice to customers, consultants, distributors, and contractors regarding product performance, new products, modifications, system solutions, and service options. You will be responsible for gathering market intelligence on competitor trends and strategies, offering recommendations to counteract their activities. Conducting specialized product and application training for customers and team members will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will coach and mentor junior team members, ensuring that all customer interactions are recorded in the global CRM tool, and that customer master data is maintained accurately within your portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and conduct feasibility studies of new businesses with the potential to use Grundfos products and services.
  • Execute sales tactics, plans, and activities in line with overall sales plans and strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of the budget to plan sales and marketing activities.
  • Use SAP BW data for business analysis and forecasting.
  • Provide advice to customers, consultants, distributors, and contractors on products and their performance, new products, product modifications, system solutions, applications, terms of sale, service, replacement, spare parts, etc.
  • Gather market information on competitor business trends, strategies, and activities, and provide recommendations to business managers to counter competitor strategies.
  • Conduct specialized product and application training for customers, distributors, and sales team.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members.
  • Record all customer activities in the global CRM tool.
  • Register and nurture opportunities in the global CRM tool according to company guidelines.
  • Ensure that the customer master data is maintained in the customer portfolio under your responsibility.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, engineering preferred.
  • 5-6 years of relevant work experience in addition to formal education.
  • Experience in the management of defined processes within project sales.
  • Possess industry experience within a business environment; experience working in a large manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience in Hydronic heating would be beneficial.
  • Solid knowledge of plans, processes, and activities within the domestic buildings sales functional area.
  • Strong ability to influence others.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the relevant systems, local laws and regulations where applicable.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area either by car or airplane.
  • Ability to travel internationally (maintain an active passport).
