About the position

As a Sales Engineer at Snowflake, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our innovative technology and the needs of our customers. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen, as you will be tasked with solving complex customer problems and closing significant deals. You will collaborate closely with the sales team and channel partners to understand customer requirements, strategize on effective sales cycles, and deliver compelling, value-based demonstrations of Snowflake's capabilities. Your responsibilities will include supporting enterprise Proof of Concepts and ultimately driving business closure. In this dynamic role, you will present Snowflake's technology and vision to both executives and technical contributors, ensuring that you effectively communicate the value of our solutions throughout the sales process—from initial demonstrations to final implementation. You will need to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving industry landscape, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies, and positioning Snowflake effectively in relation to these. Collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing will be essential to continuously enhance our products and marketing strategies. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is adaptable, and possesses a strong passion for reinventing the database space. You should be comfortable engaging with both business and technical audiences, demonstrating the ability to connect customer-specific challenges with Snowflake's innovative solutions. Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  • Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to them.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake's products and marketing.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of industry experience with a minimum of 3 years within a pre-sales environment.
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos.
  • Broad range of experience within large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analytics.
  • Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems and Snowflake's solutions.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GSIs (EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.) would be beneficial, but not required.
