About the position

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Snowflake, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our sales initiatives within the healthcare sector. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen, as you will be tasked with solving complex customer problems and closing significant deals. You will collaborate closely with the sales team and channel partners to gain a deep understanding of customer needs, strategize on navigating sales cycles, and deliver compelling, value-based demonstrations of Snowflake's technology. Your efforts will support enterprise Proof of Concepts and ultimately contribute to closing business deals. In this dynamic role, you will be expected to present Snowflake's technology and vision to both executives and technical contributors at various prospects and customers. You will engage hands-on with these stakeholders, demonstrating the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle—from initial demonstrations to proof of concept, design, and implementation. Staying abreast of the ever-evolving industry landscape is crucial, as you will need to maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitive and complementary technologies, positioning Snowflake effectively in relation to them. Collaboration is key in this role; you will work alongside Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to continuously enhance Snowflake's products and marketing strategies. Your passion for reinventing the database space and your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment will be essential as you contribute to the growth and success of Snowflake.

Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  • Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving industry, maintaining a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to them.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake's products and marketing.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of industry experience with a minimum of 5 years within a pre-sales environment.
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos.
  • Broad range of experience within large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
  • Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems and Snowflake's solutions.
  • Ability to do deep discovery of customer's architecture framework and connect those with Snowflake Data Architecture.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred. Masters in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GSIs (EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.) would be beneficial, but not required.
