About the position

Carrier is seeking an experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in Georgia. This role is pivotal in providing technical advice to customers and developing proposals tailored to their specific requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with local customers and maintaining updated documents and processes to enhance the performance of sales engineering. The territory for this position will cover Central/North Georgia, and the candidate must reside within this area to effectively manage and grow the assigned territory or group of accounts related to our product offerings. In this role, you will develop long-term relationships and build partnerships with key stakeholders, including owners, contractors, and consulting engineers. You will perform take-offs and bid projects utilizing the full spectrum of Automated Logic Corporation (ALC) offerings. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve driving specifications towards all ALC offerings with assigned consulting engineers and fostering a preference for our solutions among owner accounts. Your technical knowledge and experience will be crucial in writing project specifications and proposals that meet customer needs. You will also be expected to utilize sales tools effectively, such as CRM and estimating software, to plan and document your progress while increasing business opportunities within your accounts. Generating a high level of activity to feed the sales pipeline and managing opportunities through the sales cycle to closure will be essential for success in this role. Collaboration and effective communication with internal staff will be necessary to deliver quality results and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will develop relationships with other Sales Engineers to improve branch business results, attend and present at trade shows, and participate in professional organizations, representing ALC as a leader in local industry associations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned territory or group of accounts of product offerings
  • Develop long-term relationships and build partnerships with assigned accounts such as owners, contractors, and consulting engineers
  • Perform take-offs and bid projects with the full spectrum of ALC offerings
  • Drive specifications towards all ALC offerings with assigned consulting engineers
  • Drive a preference for Automated Logic offerings with assigned owner accounts
  • Apply technical knowledge and experience to write project specifications and proposals
  • Utilize sales tools effectively (CRM, estimating software, etc.) to plan and document progress as well as increase business opportunities within accounts
  • Generate a high level of activity to feed the sales pipeline and manage opportunities to successfully move them through the sales cycle to close

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years of building automation or HVAC controls sales experience
  • Valid Driver's license

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Building Automation and/or HVAC Controls Sales experience preferred with demonstrable knowledge in DDC control theory and HVAC systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with customers at all levels, both on a technical and business basis
  • Proven ability to influence customer's key decision-makers
  • Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be self-motivated to achieve annual goals and objectives
