About the position

The Senior Sales Engineer (SSE) at Diversified plays a crucial role in the pre-sales process by collaborating with Account Executives to provide technical expertise for various opportunity types, including RFPs, Design-Build, and Design Consulting. The SSE is responsible for delivering all technical requirements, including detailed equipment lists, labor estimates, and scopes of work, while ensuring effective communication with clients and internal teams. This position requires a strong understanding of audiovisual systems and the ability to design solutions that meet customer needs, focusing on enhancing the end-user experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective communication with Account Executives and Customers.
• Attend discovery meetings to identify technology and business requirements.
• Conduct site surveys to gather design space details as needed.
• Conceptualize and explain technology solutions to Customers with varying technical expertise.
• Validate solutions for RFP/RFQ and Consultant Design-Bid-Build opportunities.
• Review RFPs and identify areas of concern for the Account Executive or Director of Sales Engineering.
• Submit technical RFIs during the bid process as necessary.
• Review architectural, electrical, and mechanical documentation related to installations.
• Provide quality deliverables to Account Executives for proposals, including detailed equipment lists and labor estimates.
• Create plan markups in Bluebeam and/or CAD for infrastructure specifications.
• Participate in internal kick-off meetings post-contract award and transfer knowledge to Design Engineers.
• Maintain communication with Design Engineers and review Drawing Package submittals to ensure design intent is met.
• Participate in vendor product demonstrations and maintain relationships with manufacturer representatives.

Requirements

• AVIXA CTS-D Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Certifications or training with at least one DSP platform (e.g., Biamp, QSC).
• Certifications or training with at least one control platform (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).
• Certifications or training with at least one AV over IP platform (e.g., Crestron, Evertz).
• Certifications or training with at least one collaboration platform (e.g., Zoom, Webex, Teams).
• 7+ years of experience in audiovisual systems design.
• Minimum 5+ years of design experience in the AV industry.
• Clear understanding of project phases and the construction process for audiovisual systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AV technology and systems used for Corporate Clients.
