About the position

The Sales Engineer at Sysdig plays a crucial role in guiding prospective customers through in-depth discussions to understand their needs and demonstrate how Sysdig's solutions can address their cloud security challenges. This position involves conducting product demonstrations, assisting with proof of concepts (POCs), and collaborating with various teams to ensure customer satisfaction and success. The role requires a strong understanding of the security landscape and the ability to communicate effectively with customers about cloud-native applications and related technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Guide in-depth discovery discussions with prospective customers to understand their environment and associated needs.
  • Conduct virtual and live product demonstrations.
  • Work with teams at Sysdig to promote offerings tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Assist customers with POCs and ensure their success with the product.
  • Collaborate with Sysdig support, customer success, and professional services teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product usage.
  • Help shape the culture and future of the Sysdig Sales Engineering organization.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the security landscape and the challenges of securing cloud-native applications.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers and prospects in navigating new technology spaces.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of technical sales experience with infrastructure and enterprise software.
  • Exposure to the container ecosystem and microservices.
  • Experience with Fortune 500 customer-facing roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an optimistic attitude towards engaging with customers and prospects.
  • Proven history of success working directly with end-users.
  • Ability to balance multiple customers while achieving results quickly.
  • Client management and organizational awareness.
  • Prior startup experience is preferred.
  • Command line proficiency in Linux and Mac OSX.
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with clients.
  • Programming/Scripting proficiency is optional but encouraged.
