About the position

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Snowflake, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our innovative technology and the complex needs of our customers. This position requires a deep understanding of both business and technical aspects, allowing you to effectively communicate the value of Snowflake's solutions to a diverse audience, including executives and technical teams. You will work closely with the sales team and channel partners to identify customer needs, strategize on sales cycles, and provide compelling demonstrations that highlight the unique benefits of our technology. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting enterprise Proof of Concepts and ultimately driving business closure. In this dynamic role, you will be expected to present Snowflake's technology and vision to both technical contributors and executives, ensuring that they understand how our solutions can address their specific challenges. You will engage hands-on with prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle, from initial demonstrations to the design and implementation phases. Staying abreast of industry trends and competitive technologies will be essential, as you will need to position Snowflake effectively against other vendors. Collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams will also be a key aspect of your role, as you work to continuously enhance our offerings and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be expected to leverage your extensive experience in the database and data warehousing space, along with your technical skills in SQL and Python, to connect customer business problems with Snowflake's innovative solutions. Your ability to conduct deep discovery into customer architectures and align them with Snowflake's data architecture will be critical to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers.
  • Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, positioning Snowflake effectively in relation to them.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake's products and marketing.

Requirements

  • 7-8 years of industry experience with a minimum of 5 years within a pre-sales environment.
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos.
  • Broad range of experience within large-scale Database and/or Data Warehouse technology, ETL, analytics, and cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SQL, SQL analytics, and Python.
  • Ability to connect a customer's specific business problems and Snowflake's solutions.
  • Ability to do deep discovery of customer's architecture framework and connect those with Snowflake Data Architecture.
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Masters in Data Science or Business Administration is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GSIs (EY, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.) would be beneficial, but not required.
