About the position

The Senior Sales Proposal Engineer at Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is responsible for supporting high voltage bids from the receipt of bids to proposal preparation. This role involves reviewing technical RFQs and offering service solutions related to installation, commissioning, maintenance, and retrofits of high voltage equipment. The engineer will collaborate closely with the project execution team and third-party vendors to develop comprehensive solutions, while also managing relationships with key account managers and the sales team to align on project strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct business with safety and integrity
  • Proactive business development attitude and business collaboration
  • Promote and grow sales for the entire PGHV Service portfolio
  • Understand the entire PGHV and Service portfolio offering in collaboration with Product Managers, Regional Service Sales Managers, and Service Center Managers
  • Support high voltage bids from bid receipt to proposal preparation
  • Review technical RFQs and offer service solutions including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and retrofits associated with high voltage equipment
  • Work closely with the project execution team to develop product schedules
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors to offer a complete solution
  • Manage relationships with key account managers and sales team to align on project strategy
  • Position HITACHI ENERGY HV Service as customers' first choice for relevant offerings
  • Drive improvement processes that positively affect the sales process
  • Collaborate with Installed Base Manager to identify new customer opportunities and proactively sell parts and service

Requirements

  • Engineering background
  • Minimum 5 years in sales experience in preferred sectors (Electrical, Industrial, Utilities)
  • Experience in negotiating with and navigating at multiple management levels of a customer organization
  • SAP experience required
  • Salesforce.com experience a plus
  • Reading and understanding engineering drawings required
  • Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
