The Senior Salesforce Developer and Solution Architect is a member of a high-performing team that focuses on the development and implementation of a world-class online learning platform (LXP). The Senior Salesforce Developer and Solution Architect is part of a team responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining multiple large components of the LXP platform while establishing and using industry-class software development practices and workflows. The Senior Salesforce Developer and Solution Architect will contribute to a culture of collaboration and openness within the team and with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Participate fully in the software development life cycle.
  • Research, design, and implement technical solutions in Salesforce to deliver business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and simplify applications portfolio and implement related enhancements.
  • Contribute to the creation and maturing of best practices within the Salesforce platform.
  • Act as a technical liaison to internal and external clients and mentor junior staff.
  • Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies, and Code of Conduct.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Platform Developer II level of knowledge in developing, testing, and deploying solutions as well as integrating with other systems using a variety of technologies.
  • Experience developing complex, distributed platforms in Salesforce.
  • Expert knowledge in one or more relevant development technologies such as Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Lightning, SQL, and SOQL.
  • Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Experience in using Salesforce DX for source-driven development and efficient CI/CD processes.
  • Proficient in designing, configuring, and managing Salesforce Experience Cloud environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred.
