About the position

The Senior Salesforce Developer/Architect position at ABBTECH Professional Resources, Inc. is a remote role that requires US Citizenship and a Public Trust clearance. The successful candidate will be a motivated and self-starting individual who will join a web application development team focused on enhancing the current Salesforce platform, which includes CRM, Knowledge Management (KM), and Public Portal functionalities. This role involves leveraging both out-of-the-box features and custom development to meet business needs. The candidate will have hands-on expert implementation, configuration, and development experience in Salesforce, and will be involved in the full development life-cycle from technical design to development, testing, and deployment. In this position, the Senior Salesforce Developer/Architect will engage and facilitate discussions with other Salesforce experts and work closely with internal and external project teams to gather requirements. The role requires configuring and extending the Salesforce application based on business needs, ensuring robust systems and testing documentation within an agile environment. The ideal candidate will be a technical professional experienced in web application development, with a strong background in Salesforce platform development and the ability to leverage Salesforce-provided Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). The responsibilities include managing development activities across an agile team, driving customer stakeholder engagements, mentoring staff and consultants, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects. The candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders to understand organizational goals and translate these into specific Salesforce initiatives, while also performing hands-on technical Salesforce development and implementations. The role requires a strong understanding of the Salesforce data model, programming languages such as Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components, as well as web application development skills including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5. The candidate will also be responsible for implementing Salesforce solutions that adhere to platform best practices, conducting peer code reviews, and providing development support from design through testing and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage development activities across an agile team, driving customer stakeholder engagements, mentoring staff, and consultants to meet job expectations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand organizational goals and translate these into specific Salesforce initiatives.
  • Drive the ongoing development and refinement of our Salesforce environment, adapting to meet our evolving needs.
  • Perform hands-on technical Salesforce development and implementations, with a focus on delivering functional solutions on the Salesforce.com platform.
  • Work with members of the team to analyze business requirements, translating those requirements into customized solutions using the Salesforce platform.
  • Configure and maintain Salesforce objects, fields, and relationships, customizing page layouts, flows, integration, automation, and validation rules.
  • Implement Salesforce solutions that adhere to platform best practices, and perform peer code reviews.
  • Provide development support, from design through testing and deployment, often working with other members of the team.
  • Assist with quality testing, including creating test scripts, training artifacts, and as needed for troubleshooting.
  • Implement, deploy, and document projects that leverage the Salesforce.com toolset.
  • Post-delivery: work with client teams in supporting the live application and perform hand-off and knowledge transfer activities, positioning our clients for long-term success.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce releases, features and industry trends and continually assess and recommend improvements to the organization's instance, identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in I.T. or other related field with 8+ years of related experience; Master's degree with 6+ years of experience (may consider additional years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security clearance, which includes a credit check and background investigation.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce data model and best practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce platform programming languages: Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Component framework, and Managed Packages.
  • Web application development including JavaScript, CSS, and HTML5.
  • Lightning Component development experience.
  • Lightning Design System framework.
  • Declarative Force.com development tools such as Process Builder, Visual Workflow, Lightning App Builder, etc.
  • Follow established Salesforce development standards and best practices.
  • Be comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work east coast hours (9:00 am ET - 5:00 pm ET).
