About the position

As a Senior Salesforce Developer at Penske, you will play a crucial role in the development lifecycle of Salesforce applications. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting existing Salesforce development efforts, troubleshooting issues, and consulting with process owners to interpret and develop solutions that align with user requirements. You will have the opportunity to lead component design and suggest new products, applications, and features based on industry trends and advancements. In this role, you will be the primary contact and lead support engineer for multiple Salesforce-based applications. You will collaborate with both technical and business leaders, as well as product owners, to acquire and understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire application lifecycle, including design, development, testing, release, and ongoing support based on detailed requirements. You will also support mission-critical applications in production and assist in resolving customer issues, ensuring that the applications run smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, you will be responsible for triaging production issues and working with multiple teams to perform problem analysis. Producing deliverables with clean, well-documented, and easily maintainable code that adheres to defined coding standards will be a key aspect of your work. You will evaluate and maintain Salesforce security best practices and participate in defining the architecture for mobile enablement of various Salesforce applications. As a senior member of the team, you will independently conduct new hire interviews and assist in assessing candidate technical skills, while also assigning and reviewing tasks from junior and offshore software engineers. This position requires a strong understanding of Salesforce technologies and the ability to build solutions across various Salesforce platforms, including Salesforce Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Salesforce Communities, and Salesforce Knowledge Base.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary contact and lead support Engineer for multiple Salesforce based applications
  • Collaborate with both technical and business leaders and product owners to acquire and understand requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Support the application lifecycle (design, develop, test, release and support) based on detailed requirements
  • Support mission critical applications in production and assist in the resolution of customer issues
  • Triage production issues and work with multiple teams to perform problem analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or Information Systems or equivalent development experience
  • 8+ years of overall technology experience with at least 3 years' experience in Salesforce programming in technologies such as Lightning Components, Work Bench, Data Loader, Visual Studio, Sales CLI, APEX, Force custom development, triggers, controllers, Force SOAP and REST APIs, JSON, sObjects, SOQL, SOSL, outbound messaging and creating Visual Force Pages
  • 2+ years' experience leading several medium to large sized projects simultaneously in a cross-functional team environment
  • 1+ years' experience working in Lightning experience
  • Strong understanding of Workflows, Reports, Process Builder, Flow, triggers, and SOQL
  • Developer Certifications such as Platform Developer I and/or Platform Developer II preferred
  • Experience building Lightning Aura Components
  • Experience with web-based technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Communities
  • Experience with ETL tools to send data between Salesforce and backend databases
  • Experience in database modeling
  • Familiarity with Aura Framework
  • Solid written and oral communication skills; ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Web Components
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices in Salesforce
