About the position

The Senior Salesforce Developer at ConvergeOne will play a pivotal role in coding, testing, and configuring applications on the Salesforce platform. This position is integral to the Salesforce practice within a dynamic and rapidly growing business segment. The developer will engage in the technical aspects of various projects, supporting existing Salesforce applications while also consulting with clients on the implementation of new Salesforce initiatives. As a senior member of the team, the developer will be expected to lead code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices, and will serve as a technical leader throughout project lifecycles. The role encompasses the design, coding, engineering, documentation, and testing of application solutions, requiring a strong foundation in software development and a commitment to quality and efficiency. In this fast-paced environment, the Senior Salesforce Developer will participate in requirements gathering sessions with customers, collaborating closely with Business System Analysts, Project Owners, and other team members to create and refine user stories. The developer will be responsible for creating and contributing to technical documentation, including scopes of work and functional requirements, while coding projects in accordance with established standards and conventions. Additionally, the developer will provide input for team process improvements and ensure that all code maintains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity in line with client policies and procedures. The role also involves writing and maintaining unit tests and assisting with the creation and maintenance of automated testing processes, as well as providing operational support, enhancements, and bug fixes as needed on the Salesforce platform. The Senior Salesforce Developer will also be expected to initiate and provide support to other members of the development team and solution consultants, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and leads in requirements gathering sessions with customers
  • Works with Business System Analysts, Project Owners, and other team members to create and refine user stories
  • Creates and contributes to technical documentation including scopes of work, functional requirements, and other design and support documentation
  • Codes projects using existing code standards and conventions, or similar best practice documentation
  • Provides input to assist in overall team process improvement
  • Ensures that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of client systems as in accordance with client policies and procedures
  • Writes and maintains unit tests and assist with the creation and maintenance of automated testing
  • Utilizes best practices to perform operational support, enhancements, bug fixes as needed to the Salesforce platform
  • Initiates and provides support to other members of the development team and solution consultants

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience developing on Salesforce platform, or equivalent experience (e.g., object-oriented programming, front-end development, relevant college courses)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of software design principles and patterns
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • A desire to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based support environment
  • Software engineering skills with the Force.com Platform (Apex, LWC, SOQL)
  • Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, SOAP/REST, XML/JSON, etc.)
  • Experience working on the Salesforce platform
  • Experience with GitHub, BitBucket, or other similar software version control applications
