About the position

As a Senior SAP Integrations and Technology Engineer at Cummins Inc., you will provide application or infrastructure technical expertise, analysis, and specifications for IT systems to meet business requirements in accordance with IT architecture policies and standards. Your role will involve translating requirements into technical specifications, creating detailed solution designs, and coordinating the construction, installation, configuration, and testing of IT systems. You will also be responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system technical issues, ensuring that solutions adhere to established standards and leverage reusable components. In this position, you will create and manage the life cycle of technical specifications from which programs and configurations will be applied to create applications, infrastructure, or complete solutions. You will assist in the technical analysis of potential solutions, evaluating the technical fit and viability of commercial-off-the-shelf products versus custom-built solutions. Your responsibilities will include delivering solutions that meet architecture, security, performance, scalability, and maintainability requirements, while also working closely with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work packages are delivered to specifications. You will conduct or participate in formal design reviews and code reviews to ensure that detailed design specifications are understood and coding standards are adhered to by development teams. Additionally, you will seek opportunities to promote the reusability of component designs to reduce costs and shorten delivery times. Your role will also involve enhancing efficiency in the build and deploy processes, leveraging automation where possible, and assisting in the test strategy and execution of master test plans. You will participate in creating standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for the IT design and development community, as well as providing level 3 support for critical non-routine issues and coaching less experienced team members on technical matters.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with IT technical service providers to ensure outsourced work packages meet specifications.
• Conducts or participates in formal design reviews and code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Seeks opportunities to promote re-usability of component designs to reduce costs and delivery times.
• Enhances efficiency in build and deploy processes, leveraging automation where possible.
• Assists in the test strategy and execution of master test plans.
• Participates in the creation of standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines for IT design and development.

Requirements

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required.
• 5-7 years of significant relevant experience in SAP integrations and technology.
• Knowledge of SAP industry best business practices, particularly in Automotive or Manufacturing domains.
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA projects and phased global deployments at multi-national industries.
• Over 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience with SAP ABAP programming, RAP programming, FIORI UI5Apps, and related technologies.
• Experience in multi-module implementation of S/4 HANA 1909 and higher.
• Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work amidst ambiguity.
• Demonstrated presentation skills and problem-solving analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

• SAP Certification and extensive implementation experience with S/4 HANA.
• Cross-functional experience in MM, SD, FICO, PP, and Service on HANA modules.
• Experience with data management and middleware like Mule Soft.
