About the position

The position is part of the Satellite Attitude Determination and Control team within Project Kuiper, which aims to enhance global broadband access through a constellation of satellites. The role involves designing and analyzing control systems and algorithms, supporting the development of flight hardware and software, and participating in satellite integration and flight operations. The successful candidate will contribute to the design of a new satellite system with challenging performance requirements, collaborating with top engineers in the industry to ensure engineering excellence throughout the project.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze control systems and algorithms for satellite attitude determination and control.
  • Support the development of flight hardware and software for the satellite.
  • Integrate satellites in the labs and participate in flight operations.
  • Develop and apply models and simulations of the satellite and constellation.
  • Conduct environmental testing, functional and performance checkout, and subsystem integration.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master's degree with 5+ years of quantitative field research experience.
  • 3+ years of experience investigating the feasibility of applying scientific principles to business problems and products.
  • Experience communicating qualitative research methods and findings to non-qualitative researchers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience analyzing both experimental and observational data sets.
  • Knowledge of C++, Matlab, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Experience building web-based dashboards using common frameworks.
