About the position

Insmed is seeking an innovative and highly motivated senior scientist to support the development, production, and characterization of novel AAV gene therapies at the New Jersey Research Development Labs. This position plays a critical role in advancing our gene therapy candidates, which are essential for transforming the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and purifying AAV gene therapy candidates, designing and producing novel AAV transgene constructs, and conducting various assays to evaluate the potency and effectiveness of these therapies. The role requires a strong collaborative spirit, as the senior scientist will work closely with peers within metabolic gene therapies and broader research teams to evaluate AAV gene therapy candidate properties and functions. This collaboration is vital to ensure that our research efforts are aligned and that we are making significant progress in our mission. The senior scientist will also be responsible for authoring and reviewing protocols, electronic notebook entries, technical reports, and scientific publications, ensuring that all documentation of experimental procedures and results is maintained accurately and comprehensively. To excel in this position, candidates must possess a minimum Ph.D. degree in a biological sciences discipline and have at least 2 years of relevant industry experience. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge and hands-on experience in research-scale high-throughput AAV production and purification, AAV titration, mammalian cell culture, in vitro assay development, and standard molecular biology techniques. An entrepreneurial spirit, proactive problem-solving attitude, and strong willingness to take on new challenges are essential traits for success in this role.
