About the position
The Senior Scientist role in the Vaccine Analytical Research and Development team is a laboratory-based position focused on solving complex analytical problems related to vaccine development. The position involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop advanced analytical techniques and support various aspects of vaccine formulation and process development.
Responsibilities
- Solve complex analytical problems at the interface of biology, chemistry, and lab informatics.
- Develop state-of-the-art analytical techniques for small molecules, polymers, proteins, conjugates, and nanoparticles.
- Conduct virology and classical wet chemistry techniques.
- Collaborate with a team of scientists to facilitate vaccine development.
- Lead small groups of technical personnel and analytical projects.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or related field; or M.S. with 4 years of experience; or B.S. with 8 years of experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry.
- In-depth knowledge of separation science (HPLC, CE, LC-MS, SDS-PAGE, & WB) demonstrated by publications.
- Extensive experience with UPLC/HPLC analysis of biologics or vaccines and CE techniques.
- Strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with qualification, validation, and transfer of assays to a GLP or regulated laboratory environment.
- Experience in representing analytical functional area on project teams.
- Authoring and reviewing internal technical reports and sections of regulatory filings.
