About the position

As a Senior Scrum Master at Raft, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating agile ceremonies and ensuring that our development teams are operating at their highest capacity. Your responsibilities will include tracking team capacity and velocity, collaborating through ART Syncs and Scrum of Scrums, and conducting demos. You will be responsible for backlog refinement, program increment (PI) planning, team stand-ups/syncs, and creating Jira tickets (Features, Stories, and tasks) to support our objectives. The agile ceremonies and processes you implement will adhere to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), ensuring that our teams are aligned and focused on delivering high-quality digital solutions. In this role, you will embody the principles of DevSecOps, which integrates security at every phase of the software development lifecycle—from initial design through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement, helping to create better outcomes for our federal agency partners. As a remote-first company, we value transparency and open communication, and you will be expected to contribute to our culture of customer obsession and innovation. Raft is a customer-obsessed, non-traditional small business focused on Distributed Data Systems, Platforms at Scale, and Complex Application Development. Our headquarters is located in McLean, VA, and we serve a range of clients, including innovative federal and public agencies. We are committed to building digital solutions that impact the lives of millions, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.
