About the position

Kforce has a client in Grand Rapids, MI that is seeking a versatile and experienced Senior Scrum Master who will be responsible for leading an Agile team as a Scrum Master while also managing a cross-functional project from initiation to closure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile methodologies, excellent project management skills, and the ability to seamlessly influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. As a Senior Scrum Master, you will facilitate Scrum events, remove impediments, and ensure the team's adherence to Agile principles and practices. You will also coach and mentor team members on Agile methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. In this role, you will collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to prioritize and refine the product backlog, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. You will lead project planning, execution, and delivery, defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders. Developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets will be essential, as well as allocating resources effectively to ensure successful project outcomes. You will monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Regular communication of project status, updates, and key milestones to stakeholders will be crucial to ensure transparency and alignment. You will conduct project reviews and retrospectives to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement, ensuring that project documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date, in compliance with organizational standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Senior Scrum Master for an Agile team, facilitating Scrum events, removing impediments, and ensuring the team's adherence to Agile principles and practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager in Agile software development environments
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, with hands-on experience leading Agile teams and implementing Agile methodologies
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver results on time and within budget
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with project management tools and software, such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, or equivalent
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
