The Sr. Scrum Master will be responsible for fully engaging with and supporting multiple agile teams (up to 3) in the learning, adoption, and application of agile mindset, values, and principles. The Sr. Scrum Master will guide, coach, and mentor teams along their agile journey as they apply the appropriate framework (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.) to deliver on organizational goals and objectives in becoming self-managed, high performing teams. The role requires a proactive approach to fostering an agile culture within the organization, ensuring that teams are not only following the processes but are also embodying the agile values in their daily work. Specific duties include actively engaging with the team to deliver valuable software for the business. The Sr. Scrum Master is an integral part of the team, working to assist in the delivery of value, rather than merely observing or scheduling meetings. This involves removing impediments while also coaching the team to develop the ability to remove impediments for itself. Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment is crucial, with an emphasis on problem-solving. The Sr. Scrum Master will facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work. They will facilitate team discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution, coaching the team, stakeholders, and the rest of the organization on how to apply Agile values and principles to delight customers. The role also includes assisting the team in identifying and taking the next step on their agile journey, at a pace that is sustainable for both the team and the organization. Furthermore, the Sr. Scrum Master will support and educate the Product Owner, especially on refinement and maintaining a healthy product backlog, providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example. Serving as a peer mentor to other Scrum Masters and partnering with Agile Coaches to drive agility throughout the organization is also a key aspect of this role.
