About the position

We are seeking a fully remote Senior Security Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity. This role focuses on identifying and remedying infrastructure and security issues while applying an InfoSec mindset across all company operations. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of security management systems and effective communication of technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hands-on engagement with infrastructure and security management systems.
• Employ an InfoSec mindset to ensure safety and adherence to the required standards across all departments of the company.
• Identify and articulate solutions for any arising issues within the company.
• Demonstrate thorough understanding and operational knowledge of on-premises, AD Azure, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Understand and communicate effectively about technical aspects, such as switches and firewalls.
• Identify and address security gaps in infrastructure projects.
• Foster a respectful and supportive work environment, demonstrating consistently good attitude and effective communication skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Security Engineer or similar role
• Proven hands-on experience with infrastructure and security management.
• Comprehensive working knowledge in on-premises, AD Azure, and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Good understanding of technical aspects of systems including switches and firewalls.
• Familiarity with the differences between firewall and web application firewall.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a respectful and patient character, capable of explaining complex concepts without being condescending.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify and implement efficient solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant professional certifications like CISSP or CISA or GIAC desired.
