About the position

Zero Hash is seeking an experienced IT/Security Leader to enhance the security processes and operational capabilities of its infrastructure and development. This role involves collaboration across the organization, ensuring effective architecture of products, refining processes, and supervising a team of IT/Security professionals. The position reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer and has high visibility and responsibility for security operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a collaborative, service-oriented IT/Security department that guides Zero Hash's technology matters.
  • Manage a team of 5-6 technology professionals, including mentoring, professional development, job supervision, and performance evaluation.
  • Build trust, identify goals and pain points, and implement technology and IT operations solutions.
  • Manage risk, user accessibility, and administrative privileges while maintaining high levels of cybersecurity.
  • Oversee the assessment of product security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats, and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensure effective onboarding and offboarding of employees and contractors.
  • Provide best practice customer service to all users, monitoring and responding quickly to user requests or incidents.
  • Develop and maintain requirements and standards for security operations, threat detection, intelligence, and incident response functions.
  • Architect, design, and implement security solutions, tools, and services to protect Zero Hash's cloud network environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry security standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO, SOC 2, NYDFS).
  • Support the CISO in additional projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in an IT, security, or engineering leadership role at firms with 200+ employees preferred.
  • 5+ years' experience managing a team of IT/Security professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, vet, select, configure, deploy, and drive adoption of new systems/platforms.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to manage priorities and resources, ensuring end-user needs are met.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of macOS and broad knowledge of productivity, collaboration, and communication tools.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as Identity management, Endpoint Detection and Response, Anti-Virus, VPN, Zero Trust, Network protocols, Linux, and Phishing email mitigation/response.
  • Experience working with AWS services and tools such as ECR, EKS, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, SecurityHub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Shield, WAF, Secrets Manager, and Lambda.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security, application security, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience leading design and security reviews of cloud-based systems.
  • Ability to work closely with software, infrastructure, and cloud engineers.
  • Software development experience is a plus.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, GIAC, or CSSLP are a plus.
