About the position

The SEO Specialist at Mayo Clinic is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing the SEO strategy across multiple domains and mobile applications. This role involves collaboration with IT and other teams to integrate SEO requirements into web development, monitor Google algorithm changes, and produce performance metrics to enhance organic traffic and search relevance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of the SEO strategy for multiple Mayo Clinic domains and mobile apps.
  • Develop search acquisition strategies, user intent, and keyword research.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and manage Local and/or International SEO campaigns.
  • Perform technical audits and monitor Google algorithm changes to identify opportunities and issues.
  • Develop performance dashboards and analytics metrics; deliver project analysis and routine reports.
  • Collaborate with 3rd party consultants/vendors and leverage analytics tools to measure performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support backlinking and other strategic programs as requested by the SEO Manager.
  • Produce detailed functional requirements documents for onsite search enhancements.
  • Work closely with IT and operational colleagues for timely implementation and testing of SEO initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various teams to establish and implement taxonomy, data standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS/BA in Computer Science, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3 years of agency experience or managing enterprise SEO campaigns.
  • 3 years of SEM and SEO experience, including developing and implementing strategies and conducting technical audits.
  • 3 years of experience leading projects in a complex environment.
  • 3 years of experience in SEO content development/management within a digital setting.
  • 3 years of experience with Digital Analytics and/or quantitative analysis skills.
  • 3 years of experience conducting keyword research and link acquisition.
  • 3 years of SEO technical experience including site performance optimization and structured data.
  • Strong understanding of SEM, Social Media, and eCommerce.
  • Expert in utilizing SEO tools such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Google AdWords.
  • Advanced experience with Google Analytics 360 and Google Search Console.
  • Experience working with CMS environments such as Sitecore and WordPress.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS and website administration.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum of 2 years managing SEO at the enterprise level.
  • SQL and big data mining experience.
  • SEO technical experience and certification.
