About the position

The Senior Service Sales Support Engineer will lead the preparation of technical pricing and commercial proposal quotations for the Albuquerque, NM and El Paso, TX regions. This hybrid role involves serving as a primary contact for sales and engineering services, providing application assistance, and developing unique solutions to enhance customer value. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective proposal development and customer satisfaction, along with a commitment to personal professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all activities related to preparing technical pricing and commercial proposal quotations for the Albuquerque, NM and El Paso, TX Region.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact/trusted advisor with sales, channel partners, and end users for the development of technical & commercial proposals.
  • Responsible for pricing development, technical application support, and proposal & submittal documentation.
  • Provide unique solutions beyond standard specifications to enhance customer value.
  • Act as a division liaison with other Eaton divisions and outside suppliers to identify solutions to customer needs.
  • Maintain communication with internal customers regarding price and product feedback.
  • Visit customer sites to address needs and gather technical inputs for proposals.
  • Track proposal and order hit rate activity for monitoring effectiveness.
  • Support Division Initiatives such as Service Attachment Orders and Aftermarket Solutions.
  • Provide ongoing updates regarding proposal activities and prepare Monthly Reports.
  • Engage in personal professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Complete all required product and safety trainings.
  • Participate in and contribute to the bi-annual Team Workshop.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business with Engineering Technical Experience, or 2 years of electrical contractor estimating/proposal writing experience, or 2 years of electrical/power field service experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical industry related field service, application engineering, or proposal development in electrical power distribution systems.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical Preferred) or Business Degree with Engineering/Technical Experience or equivalency of 2 years hands-on field service experience and/or proposal generation experience related to electrical power distribution systems.
  • Experience with proposal development in private sector and government bids.
  • Experience with government proposal procedures and evaluation factors.
  • Experience in writing and reviewing subcontractor work scopes and agreements.
  • Estimating experience in substation and electrical system installations.
