About the position

The Senior Service Specialist is responsible for providing expert support and service for Building Automation Systems (BAS). This role involves completing detailed service reports, executing system upgrades, conducting audits, and providing training to customers. The specialist will also troubleshoot and resolve customer service calls, ensuring optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and the organization in a timely manner.
  • Provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, system audits, and consultation.
  • Work startup of Building Automation Systems on small service jobs.
  • Provide training to customers on electronic control systems operations.
  • Participate in the setup and configuration of PC workstations, user interfaces, data servers, and networking devices.
  • Perform operational testing or troubleshooting of Sequences of Operation and verify system operation with customers.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to respond to and resolve customer service calls with Building Automation Systems.
  • Provide technical support to end users and mentor junior team members when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to improve overall operations of the Service Department.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to promote the sale of add-on work.
  • Keep customers informed of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommended improvements.
  • Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols and database requirements for integration.
  • Travel to BAS customer sites and active construction sites for work daily.
  • Perform physical activities including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and climbing stairs.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and requirements established by company policies.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting building automation controls systems.
  • Proficiency in PC applications (word processing and spreadsheet programs).
  • Experience with Desigo CC and ABB is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic or direct digital controls systems (DDC).
  • Ability to test and write modifications to systems software in multiple languages with little oversight.
  • Proven experience in the integration of various industry protocols such as BACnet, N2, Modbus, and Siemens P1/P2 protocols.
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Skilled in programming, start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting complex Building Automation Systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
