About the position

The Senior Site Civil Design Lead at HDR is responsible for leading a project team in the design of site development projects across various market sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial. This role involves overseeing the design and plan production for site development, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and mentoring junior staff. The position emphasizes collaboration, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace, aiming to create a positive impact in the community and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project design and plan production for site development on a variety of projects.
• Perform routine engineering design calculations.
• Prepare specifications and contract documents.
• Lead land development permitting processes.
• Exercise judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Make independent decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed.
• Delegate tasks to other project team members.
• Sign and seal design plans, calculations, and specifications as the Engineer of Record.
• Serve as the Project Manager on small to medium sized site civil projects as needed.
• Actively train and oversee up to three design staff on a project basis.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
• Commitment to being an active participant in the employee-owned culture.
