About the position

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud at Tyler Technologies, you will play a crucial role in developing and supporting innovative software solutions that assist local governments and school districts in centralizing their data and connecting their organizations. Your primary focus will be on our financial management solutions, which integrate seamlessly with human resources, revenue management, tax billing, and asset management systems. This position is based in Yarmouth, Maine, and involves working with cutting-edge cloud technologies to ensure the reliability and performance of our applications. In this role, you will implement tooling to monitor AWS EKS-based systems, emphasizing performance, reliability, and scalability. You will be responsible for ensuring that our architecture and deployment models meet SLA commitments and are prepared for future scaling challenges. Leveraging cloud technology and platform capabilities, you will provide operationally sustainable solutions that are both robust and cost-effective. Your expertise in software engineering best practices will be essential in addressing and resolving complex problems comprehensively. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with product support teams to enhance customer experience through self-service tools and automation. You will ensure timely responses to incidents and support requests, conducting root cause analyses and implementing preventative measures to minimize toil and impact on customers. Additionally, you will lead and participate in incident retrospectives to improve future response efforts and participate in on-call rotations to provide critical support as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • An extensive and successful technical career within reputable technology firms, particularly with large-scale cloud applications.
  • Expertise in Site Reliability Engineering concepts and practices, including the use of observability platforms and monitoring tools.
  • Experience deploying and supporting containerized applications on cloud platforms, preferably EKS on AWS.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code technologies, such as Terraform.
  • Strong software engineering skills in languages like Python, JavaScript, or Go.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
