About the position

The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) role at UKG is essential for enhancing and supporting service delivery processes through innovative software solutions. SREs are responsible for developing and managing CI/CD deployment pipelines, automated testing, and ensuring system performance and reliability. They work collaboratively with engineering teams to improve operational efficiency and customer experience, embodying a mindset of automation and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement standards and best practices related to system architecture and service delivery.
• Support services, product, and engineering teams by providing common tooling and frameworks to enhance availability and incident response.
• Improve system performance and application delivery through automation and process refinement.
• Collaborate closely with engineering professionals to deliver reliable services.
• Increase operational efficiency by treating operational challenges as software engineering problems.
• Actively participate in incident response, including on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Engineering or Cloud.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in configuration and maintenance of applications and/or systems infrastructure for large-scale customer-facing companies.
• Engineering degree or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C++, or Java).

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of cloud-based applications and containerization technologies.
• Understanding of best practices in metric generation and collection, log aggregation pipelines.
• Fundamentals in Computer Science, Cloud architecture, Security, or Network Design.
